01What BitSettle is
BitSettle is a self-custody, receive-only payment-infrastructure service. It monitors public blockchain addresses and stablecoin token transfers, detects incoming Bitcoin, Lightning, and USDT payments, and reports them to you. Payments settle directly to a wallet you control. Built on open BTCPay Server.
02What BitSettle is not
BitSettle is not a bank, an exchange, a custodian, a money transmitter holding your balances, or a wallet provider. We do not take custody of your funds, hold your private keys, or move money on your behalf. We do not provide legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice, and nothing on this website should be relied on as such. Bitcitizen LLC does not make any regulated-entity claims through the BitSettle service.
03No advice
All content on the BitSettle website and within the Services is provided for general information only. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Decisions about accepting, holding, converting, or reporting cryptocurrency should be made with your own legal, tax, and financial advisors, taking your jurisdiction and circumstances into account.
04Risks of cryptocurrency payments
Accepting cryptocurrency and stablecoin payments involves risks that you should understand before using the Services, including:
- Price volatility. The value of Bitcoin and other assets can change rapidly. Stablecoins such as USDT aim to track a reference value but may deviate from it.
- Irreversibility. Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed. Funds sent to the wrong address or on the wrong network may be unrecoverable.
- Issuer controls. Stablecoins are issued by centralized third parties that may freeze, blacklist, or otherwise affect balances, which is outside our control.
- Network conditions. Confirmation times, fees, congestion, and chain reorganizations can affect when and how a payment settles.
- Self-custody responsibility. Because funds settle to a wallet you control, the security and backup of that wallet and its keys are solely your responsibility.
05No guarantees
We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that payment detection will be timely or complete in every circumstance. We do not guarantee the conduct of third-party networks, node providers, or stablecoin issuers. The Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” as described in our Terms of Service.
06Compliance is yours
You are responsible for determining and meeting the legal, tax, licensing, and regulatory obligations that apply to your acceptance of cryptocurrency payments in your jurisdiction. The availability of the Services in your location does not imply that a particular use is lawful there.
07How the documents fit together
Our Terms of Service set out the agreement that governs your use of BitSettle. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. These legal disclosures provide context and risk information. Where a separate order or engagement applies to your use of the Services, its specific terms govern that engagement.
